Discussion, mostly technical, about running Phoenyx groups goes here. Hypotheticals and wishlists go in stakeholders.

MGR: Please respect our bandwidth

In going through the Phoenyx' server logs, I'm noticing some *huge*
downloads. Mostly they're graphics files, maps and the like, that have
been stored in uncompressed BMP or TIFF formats. I just opened one 3MB
graphic file, converted it to GIF, and saved it as a 37K graphic file.

We don't have a huge pipe here, so please try to create your game graphics
in appropriate formats. GIF is good for graphics (maps and such), JPG is
good for photographs (and please be careful about copyrights when you use
photos) and digital artwork. If you absolutely can't stand one of these
formats, please zip your files.
