... of pictures of ice, here are some more. The sun came out today, so it's incredibly pretty. I'm sure there's a bunch of photographers out right now all over the city, freezing their butts off with all the polarizing lenses and star lenses and whatnot, but I just had a little Sony digital. The closeups look really spiffy, but the wider shots can't really capture the lighting well at all. I'm actually surprised I didn't overload the CCD with some of these. These are all 640x480, though the originals are larger (except for the tight shot of the mailbox, which I cropped my hand out of because I was shading the lens from the direct sunlight and got too close). http://silver.phoenyx.net/icestorm/kcravens6.jpg http://silver.phoenyx.net/icestorm/kcravens1.jpg The mailbox and barberry out front. Look ma, lens flare! http://silver.phoenyx.net/icestorm/kcravens7.jpg Barberries, from the other side. http://silver.phoenyx.net/icestorm/kcravens3.jpg Backlit hackberry sprouts out back. http://silver.phoenyx.net/icestorm/kcravens5.jpg Looking over the hackberry sprouts. You lose a lot of the sparklies on the wider shots. http://silver.phoenyx.net/icestorm/kcravens4.jpg The honeysuckle on the back of the house, also with fewer sparklies than in real life. http://silver.phoenyx.net/icestorm/kcravens2.jpg And, just to prove that I'm really not that great a photographer, the tree over the house. I can't even hold the camera straight. Meanwhile, a goodly chunk of the city is without power (my son's out of school because so many of the schools are), but otherwise things are pretty much back to normal. -- -------------------------------------------------------------- Game(s): The Whole Phoenyx Listowner tools are found at http://www.phoenyx.net/listowners/
