We've been getting delay messages for the last 48 hours or so from all our Verizon users. Not sure what's up there; I'd assume if they were blacklisting us we'd be getting (a) an explanation in the error message and (b) a non-permanent error. We haven't gotten any permanent errors yet, so no one's unsubscribed, but if you're expecting anything time-sensitive to be getting to folks there, be aware of this. (And yes, in part this post is to make sure we don't have any gamemasters relaying through Verizon.net. Not that, I think, everyone's current on their subscriptions here. Gamehawk will fix that.) -- -------------------------------------------------------------- Game(s): The Whole Phoenyx Listowner tools are found at http://www.phoenyx.net/listowners/

You are aware of Verizon's blocking of the *whole of Europe* without bothering to inform their users of this fact? (This despite the fact that most spammers are still US-based) This has caused much grief to some Dreamlyrics subscribers who weren't getting new emailed passwords, and weren't getting replies to questions from UK sysops. There's been talk of class-action lawsuits by Verizon customers. -- -------------------------------------------------------------- Game(s): Kalyr Listowner tools are found at http://www.phoenyx.net/listowners/

I imagine I've still got 50 GMail invites (probably more), if anybody needs them. -- -------------------------------------------------------------- Game(s): The Whole Phoenyx Listowner tools are found at http://www.phoenyx.net/listowners/

I've got 50 as well. Speak up if you want one. Or if you have a player that wants one, have them email me and let me know. -- -------------------------------------------------------------- Game(s): Rumors of War / Science Fiction Category Editor Listowner tools are found at http://www.phoenyx.net/listowners/

I told them both and offered them gmails. -- -------------------------------------------------------------- Game(s): Alien Light Listowner tools are found at http://www.phoenyx.net/listowners/

Technically, I jumped the gun a little bit, since Verizon has yet to *permanently* refuse the emails, but I got tired of seeing the repeated temporary bounce messages. I don't have any reason to expect the mails will eventually make it through, so I went ahead and set them to bouncing status. Which is, incidentally, slightly different from being unsubscribed, in that the Phoenyx goes from attempting to deliver listmail to attempting to deliver a "You're losing email and it's not our fault" sort of message, within 24 hours, after a week, and a final "You're being unsubscribed" notice at 30 days. For Verizon users, I put a custom reason message in: "Verizon is busted. Contact silver@phoenyx.net for a GMail invite if you need one." I can't remember if the reason appears in the status report or not; as I recall it's a bit unclear about whether it was a true unsubscribe or just a bounce-status setting. Gamehawk will know not just that a message is bouncing, but which message it was, so that when you get things fixed you can send a catchup request and get all the back posts. Firehawk isn't quite that smart, though. -- -------------------------------------------------------------- Game(s): The Whole Phoenyx Listowner tools are found at http://www.phoenyx.net/listowners/
