Discussion, mostly technical, about running Phoenyx groups goes here. Hypotheticals and wishlists go in stakeholders.

MGR: New PBEM on Phoenyx (Fudge Planescape)

I thought I'd hawk this here, since the Phoenyx Managers list includes
the best set of PBEM gamers found anywhere on the net....

I'm starting up a new game on the Pnoeyx, and I'd love to have some
proactive players who will help make this thing ineteresting. This will
be a game set in the late 1990's "Planescape" setting from TSR, but I'll
be using Fudge as my mechanics. All the information you could hope to
have (minus that which I haven't put up yet or thought of yet) can be
found at

  http://www.sonic.net/~rknop/Omar/planescape/chant/socnone/

I'm also submitting a Phoenyx news item, so presumably at some point in
the next several days this will show up there too.

Question for Carl and Karen: I've put a manual link to this page from
http://www.phoenyx.net/socnone/

Would you mind if I stuck an HTML redirect header on that page so that
it jumped directly to the web page in my own space? I did put the code
for the list management form on my page, and of course the Phoenyx
banner is on my page and all the game sub-pages.

I can't think of any reasons why that wouldn't work. Other than it might
be more efficient, especially search-engine-wise, to do an HTTP redirect.
Soon as I remember which htaccess file it has to go in, i can do it.

Except that page has the form for the user to enter the
subscription settings editor. So long as the form is reproduced on
the target page and is easy to find, I don't have a problem with the
redirect. But it's a Phoenyx "standard" to be able to find the
setting editor form from that page.

Well, yeah, except I'd rather pretend that editor doesn't exist. It's
awful.

Heh. Well, in any event, I'd replicated the form submission code on my
page already.
