Okay, *now* you can go into your profile and clicky for a new password.

That is, getting a new password is no longer password-protected. Oopsie.

(For debugging purposes, it is not time-restricted right now, though
eventually it will be. No clicky-clicky-clicky on other people's
new-password buttons before then!)

Also, I'm replying to a digest. Woo!

If it works well, I can convert some more lists, since my current
volunteers are either ones with digest subscribers, or private lists
(there's really nothing keeping me from converting the latter, I guess).

Overall, everything's going pretty well. There's still a *ton* of stuff to
do, but interruptions to regular services have been pretty minimal, which
was a goal. Also, the database is being backed up now, which is important
(I set every setting on the system to "20 member" for a little while on
Tuesday. Not good. Fortunately, not too much of importance is stored in
the generic "settings" table. Other than I wiped out all the join dates,
but those just come from the Firehawk conversion anyway, so they're not
gone for good. And your sitewide join date reflects the first message you
posted, if it doesn't know of anything earlier, so it doesn't even look
like they're gone for most people.) That is, the database is being backed
up in a special database backup, so we can restore stuff without having to
restore, you know, a disk image or whatever the heck it is that happens.

And yes, we have offsite backups. Which is good, because it's
lightninging out there big time.

Now I'm replying via web. Woo hoo!

(And from my virtual-mailbox that lets me do a "read new"
thing, too. Woo hoo HOO!)

I am a big dummy

I've been, off and on, trying to figure out what was wrong with digest
mode on Gamehawk. I just wasn't getting digests, the live code only runs
once a day (which makes debug cycles kind of long), and I didn't have time
to set up a fully separate test site. And I couldn't see anything wrong
with the code, and I knew it *did* work when I had a fully separate test
site.

And then I realized my test list was Celandra, which, um, isn't served by
the Gamehawk daemon.

So anyway, there actually isn't anything wrong with digest mode, other
than the current release doesn't support changing your subscription mode,
either on the web or via the majordomo-alike. (Details, details.) So I'm
currently polishing up the new release, and then I'm going to start
converting the rest of the lists, which will mean we can shut down the
really-old server (Firehawk is dependent on MySQL, which we haven't
installed on any of the new servers), and move everything to the colo
server. (Yay bandwidth! Yay backup power!)
